Animation Tests
Ok this is a short tester for what will be the first animated part of our finished film. Canvas will feature two animated pieces, one will be line-art rotoscoping of some of the footage captured during filming.
The purposed of this piece is to propose that skateboarding can be seen as an artform and not only just a sport or a choice of lifestyle. The purpose of the animation is to show off the artistic quality of the skateboard trick and motion.
I hope that the end product will be a melee of different styles and looks all in one, with a voice over that will further aknowledge the idea of skateboarding as art itself. Similar to how dance can also be seen as an artform.

Filming Southbank, London 14-15th Feb '08
We have begun filming 'Canvas' with mixed results. We got some great information and some great contacts but the footage we were able to get was a little disappointing. Hopefully the skaters that we got in contact with will be happier to perform for us at a later date so we can get some more concrete footage, with tricks that they can do rather than tricks they are learning today.
I can't blame them though, we just randomly turned up and they had come to practice there so it's kind of our own fault in a way but it was a very useful learning curve for the whole team that people aren’t that interested in being a part of a skate video, unless I guess they have heard of you and it's going to be worth it.

New Design
The new layout is almost done and it's nice to see it not looking so white and rubbishy. Still a bit of work to go on the design but it's not taking quite as long as I thought it would have done so hopefully wont take too long to start getting it to look the way it should.
I have deleted some of the previouse posts because they were not working right with the new design so I hope it's the fact that they were written before the new design was working and not the design itself.
I am hoping the rest of the group will start using this too as I dont like to be the only one that uses this space.
