This is the rough cut for SS20 and the Corby section, filmed at the Adrenaline Alley. I am pleased with it. Took a bit longer than the first one (London) I am not a massive fan of vert skating but it is the favourite of the two with the group, with new understanding of why. Answers on a postcard.
This one, I would say is slightly rougher than London but then again I was luckier with the footage from there as it needed less work, ho hum, noone said it would be easy.

We have started shooting our Coventry / Kong footage. Got some great stuff, those guys have some real talented skaters on their hands and hopefully they and Kong themselves will go far in the future.
Make sure you check out their myspace and expect a link soon. I think I will be using the song for the Corby section, so expect some footage of that other the weekend as I work on that.

Both the London footage and the SS-20 looks great and I am looking forward to editing them. Once I get the right equipment that is.
So this was only going to be a short update as I know a few people are waiting to see footage of SS-20, I promise I will have it done soon.
That's just a price we cannot afford to pay since this entire film has been self financed anyway.
So I will start to look for some new music for the SS-20 section, I am pretty sure that SS-20's section will be the first one we will work on so look out for the rough cut within the next week or two.
'Roots, Rock, Riot', ah tis a great album and a few songs that played I knew I wanted to have on Canvas. The first was 'State of Emergency' and then later I heard 'Killing Me' and the more I listened to that song I started imagining the film working around it.
So I have decided to get in touch with both the band and their record company. I have nothing to really offer in terms of money, I am quite poor now having replaced my laptop but I have offered to advertise the album on the site. To be honest it would be great to have the song on the album as Skindred are a UK band trying something new and different and making it work incredibly well.
It would be cool to have that on top of the SS-20 footage which I think would be deserving of this music.
I will let you know when I hear something about it.
Anyway as far as I know (since I wasn't able to get there) the Corby shoot went really well, we were able to get lots of footage and interview from some big names in skateboarding, I was only told of one in a brief text but I know Dan Cates was there.
I will put up some of the London photo's either today or tomorrow and I am also thinking of dumping blogger, it's very restrictive, I may move over to a Wordpress install instead.
Again we came up against our usual problem, when skaters are there (Southbank), they are there to relax and just skate. It isn’t a major problem for us but it does mean that we just have to be lucky and catch what we can.
Corby shoot is on Friday, and Drew will be taking the lead on that. That should be a lot better as it is an event and we should get some great footage of that.
I was on the SS-20 website today because I want some new wheels, they have some 49mm ones, bit pricey but Rollersnakes only have Ricta for 49mm and I am not too sure about them.
Anyway I will be checking out some of the footage as soon as possible. I need a DV camera so I can digitise the footage and began editing. I will also upload some photos of the two day trip as we didn't get the chance to get an interview from French, hopefully we will soon.
I will also start posting up some bits of pieces of footage too!
So we have the filming at Corby with the SS-20 guys 100% confirmed. Should be cool. Filming at night on the 4th of April. We are hoping that the light situation is good enough but the Z1's iris should be able to handle the slightly low light.
One other problem would be the orange light, but that shouldn't be a problem either since we are going to be after effecting all the footage we capture.
Anyway SS-20 has been an established skate shop for 20 years, (you can see huge ads for them in sidewalk if you look out for it.) So we are hoping that the footage we get will be really great. We have three hours there to shoot.
Corby has also recently added a huge half-pipe and is one of the better skate parks in the UK.
